Hello world! Welcome to mine!

Hi! Welcome to my very first blogging post! I am grateful that you are here! Come along with me as I share about the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the laughs and tears, while renovating a 1969 lake cottage in the Texas Hill Country on a (really) small budget. The quintessential Diane Keaton (may she rest in eternal peace) wrote, “The House that Pinterest Built“. If we could write ours it might just be titled, “The House that Facebook Marketplace Built“! (We could substitute Habitat for Humanity’s Restore there!) Many of the materials we’ve sourced are a scored deal at a thrift store. We’ve sourced, hauled, paid too much in storage fees, made mistakes, and celebrated some wins too! Along with all the elbow grease, doubt, indecision and required patience that coincides with this chaotic renovating symphony, we’re having fun! We devour YouTube videos to learn skills to DIY where we can.
Faith and family are first in our lives. We stay with and help my 91 year old sweet Mama. We do our best to keep up with our busy grown children and grandchildren who are scattered across Texas, and another is a missionary in Cambodia!
Having a penchant for projects, apparently, we also are working on 1969 vintage Airstream. We’ve dubbed her “Lover-ly”, Cockney English for Lovely! Cue Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady “All I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold night air“!

Try some of the craft projects I share (please share on Instagram @inks_view so I can admire it), and travel along with us when we get out and about too. Our Lagotto Romagnolo rescue dog is a cameo in many of my pictures. He a little shy, but he is definetely the star of the show, and my life!
Thank you for sharing this journey with us!
